First Sergeant Jessica Hunsaker enlisted into the United States Army on 16 March 2004. She attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas being awarded the Military Occupational Specialty, 91T, Animal Care Specialist.
1SG Hunsaker has served in many diverse positions and duty assignments to include: Animal Care Specialist at the Fort Lewis Veterinary Treatment Facility, Pacific Northwest District Veterinary Command, Fort Lewis, Washington; Animal Care Sergeant at the Fort Shafter Veterinary Treatment Facility, Fort Shafter Branch NCOIC, and Veterinary Operations NCO, Central Pacific District Veterinary Command, Oahu, Hawaii; Squad Leader and Veterinary Operations NCO, 438th Medical Detachment Veterinary Service Support, Fort Carson, Colorado; Veterinary Operations NCO, Public Health Activity – Fort Carson, Fort Carson, Colorado; Senior Animal Care NCO, Veterinary Medical Center Europe, Pulaski Barracks, Germany; and G-3 Current Operations NCOIC, Regional Health Command Europe, Sembach, Germany. She is currently serving as the Public Health Activity – Fort Lewis First Sergeant.
Her military education includes: Primary Leadership Development Course, Advance Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Battle Staff, Master Leaders Course, Combatives Level I, Mobile Retention Training, Installation Veterinary Course, Combat Lifesavers Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Medical Management of Biological/Chemical Casualties Course, SHARP Foundation Course, AT Officer Basic Course, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, OPSEC Program Managers Course, and Transport of Biomedical Material Course. 1SG Hunsaker earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University.
