Yokota Air Base Veterinary Treatment Facility is full-service veterinary clinic offering medical care, surgery, diagnostic imaging, and routine laboratory services for Military Working Dogs and Personally Owned Animals alike. Located within the Tokyo metropolitan area, Yokota VTF is conveniently accessible for members assigned to Yokota Air Base, Camp Zama (1 hour drive), U.S. Embassy – Tokyo (1 hour drive), Naval Base Yokosuka (1.5 hours drive), and Camp Fuji (1.5 hours drive). The facility also supports retirees and other authorized patrons/mission partners with access to Yokota Air Base. Primary species seen include dogs and cats; it is highly recommended that small exotics seek off-base specialty care, to better support their needs. Both English and Japanese speakers are available within the facility.

Yokota VTF strives to streamline your Pet PCS Plan and help you understand the importation process. Japan’s entry requirements may seem difficult, but Yokota VTF can help answer your questions. If you haven’t already, please read the overview of the process at https://www.maff.go.jp/aqs/english/animal/dog/index.html. In addition, the VTF is on social media at https://www.facebook.com/YokotaVetClinic/ and can also be reached via email at ‘YokotaABVTF@gmail.com’.

For families arriving to Japan via Air Mobility Command / Patriot Express mission flights with pets, members of the VTF staff will meet the plane upon arrival. No advanced notification of your plans to arrive to Japan with pets is required for this mode of transportation – for members arriving via Tokyo-Narita or Tokyo-Haneda on a commercial flight, this step is still required.

All pets living on post must be registered with the VTF upon arrival. On-post housing may limit the number and breed of pets that can live in on-post housing. Contact on-post housing (374th Housing Office) for more information.

Although every effort will be made to accommodate your pet for an appointment, demand for services is high. The VTF maintains a list of off-base services for your convenience to assist you with selecting another reasonable option for care if we are unavailable. Thank you for your interest in our clinic and welcome to Japan!
