Pet Registration Requirements
NAS Leemore Installation Animal Policies
Lincoln Military Housing Breed Restrictions and Policies
All pets maintained in the Lincoln Military Housing area shall be registered under the sponsor's name at the NAS Lemoore Veterinary Treatment Facility and Lincoln Military Housing as part of check-in procedures or within one week of their arrival on the installation. Cats and dogs must be microchipped, spayed/neutered, and must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccination. Cats are required to remain up-to-date on the FVRCP vaccination and dogs must remain up-to-date on the Bordetella and DAPv vaccinations.
Each household is restricted to have no more than two pets (dogs and/or cats).

Birds, small mammals (e.g. hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, etc), or small non-poisonous reptiles (no longer than 36 inches in length) commonly held as pets may be kept in Lincoln Military Housing, provided the pets are maintained in a sanitary manner. Farm type domestic animals (e.g. bovine, goats, pigs, sheep, fowl, etc) are not authorized.

Horses may be owned and boarded only in the stables operated by the Lexington Equestrian Center.

Exotic hybrid animals and dog breeds including Chows, Doberman Pinschers, Presa Canaries, Pit Bulls (American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier), Rottweilers, any Wolf Hybrid, or any mix of the aforementioned breeds, non-human primates, ferrets, and other wild animals are not authorized.

  What is required to bring a pet to Japan?
  1. A 15 digit ISO compatible microchip
  2. Rabies vaccination #1: can be done at the same time as the microchip, but cannot be done before the microchip
  3. Rabies vaccination #2: must be given 31 days or more after the 1^st rabies vaccination
  4. Blood draw for a rabies titer (FAVN): The FAVN blood draw can be done at the same time as the 2^nd rabies vaccination. However, it is recommended to wait 21 days after the 2^nd rabies vaccination before drawing blood for the FAVN to maximize your pet’s chance of passing the rabies titer.
  5. Health Certificate: Health Certificates are only valid for 10 days, so we recommend getting the health certificate done as close to your flight date as possible.
  What is normally required to go overseas with your pet?
  For most countries, you are required to have a 15 digit microchip and a rabies certificate with the microchip number transcribed on it. However, the requirements for each country is different so we recommended visiting the USDA pet travel web page for the most up-to date requirements for each country (https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/pet-travel).
  Is it cheaper to get a Health Certificate out in town or on base?
  Health Certificates are cheaper and easier to process on base. Our veterinary is USDA certified to sign off on Health Certificates. Our vaccinations and labs are cheaper compared to out in town.

Does the vet clinic do Spay/Neuters, Dental Cleaning, or General Surgery?
Yes we do, but your pet will need to be seen in an appointment first to establish a doctor patient relationship before we can add your pet to the surgery/dental list.
Does the clinic see walk-in appointment?
We do not support walk-in appointments. We only see prescheduled appointments.
Do we have to make appointments for registration?
No. You will need to come to the vet clinic to fill out our registration forms and bring all your pet’s records.

Mission

The Lemoore Naval Air Station Veterinary Treatment Facility is professionally staffed by Army Veterinary Corps personnel with the primary mission of providing complete veterinary care for all government-owned animals.

Our staff understands how important your pet is to you and with that in mind, we also offer many types of routine care services for the pets of military families. For availability of services or to schedule an appointment please call our listed contact number above.

All pets living on post must be registered with the veterinary treatment facility upon arrival. On-post housing may limit the number and breed of pets that can live in on-post housing. Contact on-post housing for more information.

Services available by appointment only. Appointments available to all military members, retired active and retired reserve members, and military dependents.

Emergency Care Information

The Lemoore Veterinary Treatment Facility does not support personally owner animal walk-in appointments or emergency services. Due to our limited manpower and resources, most veterinary emergency cases are best served through a full service civilian veterinary hospital.
Hanford Veterinary Hospital (559-584-4481) provides emergency services during business hours (Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). There are several 24 hour veterinary emergency clinics in Fresno, including Fresno Veterinary Spec. and Emergency Care (559-451-0800).
