First Sergeant Donna L. Diver
Public Health Activity-San Diego First Sergeant
First Sergeant Donna L. Diver is from Elm City, North Carolina and graduated from Southwest Edgecombe High School in 1998. She enlisted in Greenville, North Carolina in May 2002 into the Veterinary Corps. She attended Basic Combat Training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Joint Base Sam Houston, Texas where she was awarded the Animal Care Specialist MOS.
Following her training she was assigned to the Ft. Leonard Wood Veterinary Treatment Facility at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. During this assignment, she served as an Animal Care Specialist and the VTF NCOIC. She was then assigned to the 51st Medical Detachment in Kaiserslautern, Germany where she filled the role as the Detachment NCOIC for a short time. She then served as the training NCO and unit movement officer. As the unit movement officer, she played a major role in the relocation of the 51st Medical Detachment to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. She remained in Kaiserslautern, Germany and was assigned to Dog Center Europe as the Veterinary Activity NCOIC. After Germany, she was assigned to the Ft. Bragg Veterinary Center at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina as the Veterinary Center NCOIC. She was then assigned to the Naval Medical Research Unit-3 in Cairo, Egypt. She served as the Animal Resources NCOIC and later served as the Senior Enlisted Leader. After this she was assigned to Public Health Activity-Ft. Gordon in Ft. Gordon, Georgia. There she served as the Operations and Training NCOIC. She was then assigned to the US Army Element Amphibious School at Naval Base Point Loma, California. There she served as the Detachment Sergeant of the Navy Marine Mammal Program. She is currently serving as the Public Health Activity-San Diego First Sergeant.
First Sergeant Diver has attended various military schools to include: Basic Leader Course, Field Sanitation Team Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Property Book Unit Supply Enhanced (PBUSE) Course, Advanced Leader Course, Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Course, Senior Leader Course, Army Retention Course, Battle Staff Course, Master Leader Course, and Master Resilience Training Course. Her civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
First Sergeant Diver’s awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Army Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Navy Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (6th Award), Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (Number 2).
First Sergeant Diver has been married to Steven Diver of Augusta, Georgia for two years. They have one daughter, Emma, who is two years old. They also have two dogs and four cats; Toro, Milkshake, Nermal, Sam, Pumpkin, and Olive.
