1SG Achley N. Lyons was born in San Marcos, TX.  She enlisted in the United States Army out of Dallas, Texas on 25 October 2005. She attended Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Leonard wood, Missouri and graduated Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas as a 91T, Animal Care Specialist.
 
1SG Lyons has been assigned to multiple positions to include: Fort Drum Vet Branch, Watertown, New York; U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania as the Veterinary Clinic as the NCOIC; Redstone Arsenal Section NCOIC, Huntsville, Alabama; Dog Center Europe, Kaiserslautern, Germany; Public Health District- Northern Europe, Kaiserslautern, Germany as the Operations NCO; Charlie Company Cadre, 187th Medical Battalion, Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Alpha Company Cadre, 188th Medical Battalion, Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas; 43rd Medical Detachment Veterinary Service Support, Fort Hood, Texas as the Operations NCOIC; HHD, 9th Hospital Center, Fort Hood, Texas as the Senior Operations NCOIC;  First Sergeant, HHC, 1st Medical Brigade, Fort Hood, TX; and Operations NCOIC, Public Health Activity, San Diego, California.
 
1SG Lyons’ military and civilian education include: Basic Leader Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Advanced Leader Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Senior Leader Course, Master Leader Course, Master Fitness Training Course, Battle Staff NCO Couse, Instructor Training Course, Cadre Training Course, Small Group Instructor Training Couse, Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention Course, Master Resiliency Training Course, Air Assault School, Command Post of the Future Course, Safety Officer/ NCO Course, Operations Security Program Manager Certification Level II Course, Unit Prevention Leaders Course, Combative Level 1 and 2, Commander/First Sergeant Pre-Command Course, Digital Training Management Systems Course, Animal Care Clinical Proficiency Course, Combat Life Savers Course and the Army Public Health Command Course. She holds an Associate’s Degree in General Studies and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from University of Maryland.  She is currently pursuing a Master’s of Public Health from Liberty University.
 
1SG Lyons’ awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, The Amy Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (12th Award), Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, Amy Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4 Device), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon. She has been awarded the Senior Army Instructor Badge, Basic Army Instructor Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Wheeled Vehicle Driver’s Badge.  First Sergeant Lyons also earned the title as the AMEDDC&S HRCoE Instructor of the Year (2017).
 
1SG Lyons has two children, Jayden and Lukas, and a bear coat Sharpei named Charley.
