First Sergeant Sarahjoy Patrick

First Sergeant SarahJoy P. Patrick was born Nueva Ecijas, Philippines on 15 March 1982. She was adopted as a young child learning English as a second language. She enlisted in the United States Army on 15 June 2001. She attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and graduated Advanced Initial Training for the 68R Food Inspection Specialist Course at Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Her previous assignments include Northeast District Veterinary Command at Brunswick Naval Air Station, Maine as a Prime Vendor Specialist; Tennessee Valley District Veterinary Command, Food Inspection Specialist, Fort McPherson, Georgia; NCOIC and mission support translator for Pacific District Veterinary Command Food Safety and Protection Section in Sasebo, Japan; NCOIC of the Food Defense and Protection Team at Fort Benning, Georgia; NCOIC of the Medical Element Preventive Medicine Team and Mortuary Affairs at Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-B) Soto Cano, Honduras; AMEDD Center and School Instructor/Writer for AIT and NCOES; Trainer, Advisor, and Counselor with A-187th, 32nd Medical Brigade Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Support Operations Medical NCO, 421st Multifunctional Battalion; Cultural Understanding Language Proficiency (CULP) NCOIC, Lithuania; 64th Medical Veterinary Service Support Detachment Sergeant, and Operations, plans NCO with 30th Medical Brigade in Europe. She has served in several mission and operations throughout the Baltics in the EUCOM and USAREUR area of operations during Operation New Dawn and Atlantic Resolve.
Her military education includes the Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Operations Rations Course, Anti-Terrorism Food Defense Course, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Defense Travel System Course ODTA, Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP), Food Handler’s Course, SERVSAFE Certification, Laboratory Manager Course, Instructor Training Course, Company Commander and First Sergeant Course, Rail Load Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, CompTIA Network+, Ammo Handler’s Course, and Phase 1 Warrant Officer Candidate School.
Her awards and decorations include Meritorious Service Ribbon (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Joint Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal (5 OLC), NATO Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, US Army Instructor Badge, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3 Numeral Device), Military Outstanding Volunteer Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Superior Unit Award. She is a recipient of the prestigious Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3).
First Sergeant Patrick served as the First Sergeant for Public Health Activity-Fort Belvoir under Public Health Command-Atlantic and recently joined the Public Health Activity-Hawaii as the new First Sergeant. She is happily married to her husband Mark. They have three amazing sons Chauncey, Evan, and Giovanni.
